Continuation of apprenticeships

The UK government has just published guidance to training providers and employers regarding the continuation of apprenticeships during the coronavirus epidemic.

The guidance includes a suggestion that e-learning could ensure the continuation of apprentices’ studies and that end point assessment could take place remotely.

PTT has a wealth of experience of supporting digital apprenticeships with our e-learning courses, online tutor support and assessment. We will continue to do so for our existing clients and stand ready to assist those organisations who need to make alternative arrangements for their apprentices.

Response to COVID-19

We at PTT, along with most others, have been following the development of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

While this is a very concerning time for many, including our staff, our customers and their families, we are doing everything we can to be responsible and follow the appropriate advice. As an online training organisation, PTT staff are able to work from home as necessary and there will be no disruption to our activities during the pandemic.

Disruption-free online training

There are a number of advantages to distance learning, one of them being reducing the need to travel to external training centres.

Sometimes, circumstances dictate that staff are unable to travel to external training centres or gather in a single location at the same time. Online training, is one way of ensuring staff development takes place without unnecessary or unwanted travel.

PTT has a wide range of online courses covering telecommunications, networking and ICT. These courses are self-paced and can be studied by trainees in any location where they have access to a computer and an internet connection. Study programmes such as our Level 3 Award in Principles of Telecommunications and Level 3 Certificate in Unified Communications come with additional features such as online tutor support which helps support the trainee as they progress.
