The number of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) connections will exceed one billion by 2018 and two billion by 2020 a recent study from Juniper Research concluded. This projected number of active VoLTE connections compares with an estimated 123 million connections currently.

The report concludes that the Far East and China will account for over 50 percent of the global VoLTE connections in five years’ time.

According to figures from the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), 25 operators in 16 countries have launched VoLTE services as of July this year.
