Synchronous broadband networks are being implemented in major projects worldwide. Telecommunications operators and manufacturers must update staff skills for the new technologies - but engineers, technicians and other projects and operations personnel are fully committed and cannot be released for long, perhaps overseas, courses.

SyncNet consists of six separate but integrated courses:

Optical line systems inc WDM
SDH payloads inc Ethernet over SDH
SDH networks
SDH management and maintenance

SyncNet, the interactive guide to broadband networks based on the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), is the solution to this problem: it is used by major corporations both as a comprehensive stand-alone suite of training courses and also as a part of a conversion programme before specific equipment training.

The SyncNet courses are fully integrated. Revision links are provided in each chapter which take the trainee to relevant sections in the other SyncNet courses. The trainee can also place his/her own bookmarks which are accessible from any of the courses.

Post-course assessments for SyncNet

As with all learntelecoms e-learning courses, an assessment session follows each chapter in a course. These on-screen assessments provide feedback to assist in the learning process.
Now a separate SyncNet module is available which provides additional assessments designed to test a trainee's level of attainment after completing a course. This module contains assessments for all six SyncNet courses.
