The Mobile suite includes two courses that introduce the fundamentals of mobile communications, two courses that covers systems conforming to the GSM specification, a course covering UMTS (3G) networks and a course covering 4G and LTE systems.
The six courses in the Mobile suite are aimed at technical staff involved in designing, installing or maintaining mobile radio systems.
The Mobile suite consists of six courses:
Introduction to mobile systems
The air interface
GSM mobile networks
GSM data services
UMTS (3G) radio networks
4G and LTE mobile systems
Mobile suite of courses
The first two Mobile courses cover the fundamentals principles of mobile communications and are designed as preparation for the GSM, UMTS and LTE courses in this suite.
The third course covers the concepts, structure, operation and telephony service offerings of radio networks conforming to the GSM specification. The fourth course discusses the provision of data services over GSM radio networks.
The fifth Mobile course provides an in depth discussion of networks conforming to the UMTS (3G) specification and covers the concepts, structure and operation of 3G networks. The types of service offered by 3G now and possible service developments in the future are also explored.
The final Mobile course describes in detail the features, structure and operation of the latest generation of mobile systems: 4G and LTE based networks.
The six Mobile courses offer an extensive range of training facilities and together provide over 40 hours of training.
